Happy Mid-September, Otter Families!
We hope you can join us tonight at our Open House event! It's been great seeing all our Otter students in the building and we're looking forward to seeing you, too!
Here's some mid-September information you Otter know.
ANNUAL TITLE 1 NIGHT / OPEN HOUSE - TONIGHT, September 15th we will have an ice cream social followed by an Open House. We will have families sign in at the entrance to Otter Hall. These doors are located to the left of the main entrance. You will notice staff members at tables just outside the doors. Ice Cream will be available from 4:45-5:15. During this time you will learn more about Title 1 services at our school. Teachers' classrooms will be open from 5:00-6:00 for student/parent visits.

PICTURE DAY - Thursday, October 6th is our school picture day. Click HERE and search for Three Rivers School to order your photos. The online gallery opens today and you'll be able to order your student's pictures up to 4 days after picture day. Paper forms will be sent home with your students the week prior. Please note - retake day is Friday, November 18th.
FIRE DRILL – We will be having our first Fire Drill late afternoon tomorrow. This will be our first emergency drill of the year. We wanted to inform parents about the drill due to the time of day we will be having it. If you are present for pickup and hear the bells and see the students, rest assured, we are only practicing our emergency procedures.
SITE COUNCIL – Every school in the district has a Site Council. This is a team that looks at practices in the school and provides a parent perspective on systems within the school. We are looking for three parents to be a part of this committee. If more than three parents volunteer then an election must be held. This year we will be looking at Safety Protocols that we have in place, our school handbook, systems of support for struggling students, and our Title 1 program. These meetings will be held on 10/6, 12/1, 3/2, and 5/4 from 2:45-3:30. Please email [email protected] by 9/19 if you are interested.
CANVAS SUPPORT FOR PARENTS - Click HERE for information on how to get onto Canvas and linked to your middle school student.

We look forward to seeing you there. ~ Help raise money for the PTA through AmazonSmile. Amazon has made it easy for you to donate to the Three Rivers PTA! Then, Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases straight to the PTA. ~ Another opportunity to help the Three Rivers PTA is through Bottle Drop. The PTA is registered with the Oregon Bottle Drop. Switch out a couple of your green bottle drop bags for a blue one and support the Three Rivers PTA! So, stop by, grab a blue bag, fill it up with Oregon deposit plastic/aluminum/glass containers, and then drop the bag off at any Bottle Drop location. Feel free to grab some extra bags for family and friends, too! ~ Have a business or office that could collect throughout the year? Let us know at [email protected] and we'd be happy to drop off a stack of blue bags. ~ The PTA is currently looking for a secretary. 9/01/2022 OTTER NEWS UPDATE
Hello Otter Families!
We're so excited to see everyone in just a few days! As we gear up to be back in school next week, we wanted to share a few important details you Otter know.
OTTER NEWS UPDATES - Our school's newsletter is sent to families on the 1st and 15th of each month throughout the school year.
K-5 TEACHER ASSIGNMENT - Notification of your child's teacher will be emailed to you by 4pm tomorrow - Friday, September 2nd. This email will come directly from your child's teacher. If you do not see this email in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SCHEDULES - Returning 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Three Rivers students will see their schedules on their iPads. New 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will need to stop by the front office on the first day of school to receive their paper schedule.
FIRST DAY JITTERS - We will have staff in place to help direct students, new and returning, to the correct classroom. Please say your goodbyes outside and send students into the main entrance lobby where they will be directed to their correct location to start their school day.
iPADS - Every K-8 student will have an iPad. K-5 will mainly keep them at school, while 6-8 graders will take them home often.
iPAD INSURANCE - This year iPad insurance is only available to 6th - 12th graders. We highly recommend purchasing iPad insurance for your middle schooler. Inevitably, things happen and the cost to repair a cracked screen or replace a machine is expensive. Insurance provides some peace of mind since your child will be handling it daily. The insurance is $30 for the school year and can be purchased online using your student's individual TouchBase account. Learn more HERE. If you have any difficulties with the online purchasing process, give our office a call at 541-355-3000.
OPEN HOUSE - Save the Date! On Thursday, September 15th we will have an ice cream social followed by an Open House.
FINES & FEES - You can take care of any outstanding fees and fines throughout the year by using your student's TouchBase account. Please check this periodically and call the office at 541-355-3000 with any questions.
YEARBOOKS - Otter K-8 Yearbooks are a treasure for all students to collect each year! Yearbooks will be available to purchase from January through the first week of May and be distributed to students on the last day of school in June.
OTTER WEAR - Purchase a Three Rivers clothing item – adult and youth sizes - now through September 18th. Show your school spirit by wearing your Otter Wear any time you'd like, but we encourage everyone to continue our tradition of Otter Wear Fridays. Each Friday we wear any Three Rivers clothing item or just our school colors - red, yellow and black. ORDER HERE. Let’s Go Otters!
FALL SPORTS NEWS - Practice has started but there's still time to sign up for middle school cross country, football or volleyball. Visit the Athletics page of our website for details.
