Summit High School

Be Sure To See 'Begets'!

Article Date: Jan 17, 2018

Be sure to see Summit Theatre Company's winter production of Begets: Fall of a High School Ronin!

This is a fun mashup of typical high school, feudal Japan and manga/video game culture. It follows the story of invisible geek, Emi Edwards, who suddenly vaults to infamy when she starts taking down all the shogun of the school, the leaders of the 5 cliques at East High School: Artists' Alley, The Conservative Coalition, The Field, Bandland and The Court. It's a satirical view of the high school hierarchy through the lens of Feudal Japanese fiefdoms. It's a ton of fun and has some great insights and messages for our students about bullying, fighting, friendship, cliques, social media/cyberbullying and the like. We encourage you and your family to attend! (Appropriate for middle school ages and above.) See you there!

Playing January 18th, 19th and 20th at 7:00pm in the SHS Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for under 18 and $8 for adults. Japanese Honor Society will also be selling delicious Obento and Japanese candy for concessions, so come support multiple groups when you come to this fantastic production!
