Summit High School

The finish line is in sight and we are so excited for all of you!

With graduation quickly approaching we wanted to ensure you were up-to-date with the latest and greatest information. >>>>>> Please read this Google Doc for all current details <<<<<<

UPDATE as of June 9th, 10:00am:

Graduation is almost here, and we are so excited! A few quick updates before we see you at Summit on Saturday.

Outside Graduation:
-We will stick with our outdoor ceremony plan rain or shine. As a reminder we were only going to move inside if there was a thunderstorm or a dangerous air quality reading. Grab your favorite poncho just in case! Guest Seating Options:
-Guests should bring their own blankets or foldable LOW BACK chairs for seating. This chair would be roughly no taller than 25 inches and would keep the guests seated behind you from having their view blocked. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) seating will be available on our soccer benches.
Video Screen:
-There will be a large screen out on the field projecting the ceremony.
Live Ceremony Viewing:
-For anyone who is unable to attend in person you will be able to view the ceremony live by going HERE.
Material Return/Fine Payments
-Seniors who have outstanding materials or fines due will not receive their diploma at graduation. All materials must be returned ASAP directly to the Library or Athletics office. You can view itemsand/or fines you owe and make a payment HERE.

Important Things to Know as of May 26th

We handed out Caps, Gowns & Cords at the senior meeting today. We still have quite a few that need to be picked up so please come see Mrs. Micheletti in the counseling office ASAP. If anything was wrong with your order or you forgot to order anything please contact Miners Grad Services at: www.minersgrad.com OR [email protected] OR 541-689-4588.

MANDATORY Grad Practice is on Friday, June 10th at 11am at Summit. You will not be allowed to walk in the ceremony on Saturday if you miss grad practice. Add it to your calendar now and we'll see you there!

FROM OUR LIBRARY/MEDIA TECH CENTER:

SENIORS: do you have any files in your school accounts that you would like to save after you graduate? It is VERY IMPORTANT that you move these files to a personal account before graduation, when your school accounts will be deleted forever. Please see these instructions for doing this.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE! iPad/brick/cord combos and all library materials are due by Wednesday, June 8th. The brick and cord MUST be the ones the district issued with your iPad. If you do not return the proper brick and cord in good condition, the cost to replace is $20 for each item. The cost to repair a cracked iPad screen is $150 if you have not purchased insurance for this school year. iPads must be returned personally to Summit staff for inspection. Fines can be checked and paid for HERE.

Please ensure you are ONLY returning items directly to the library and not dropping them off at any other school location.

College and Career Center

Transcripts

SHS provides transcripts to colleges, universities, trade schools and employers through Parchment.com for current and former students. Current and former students can create an account and request their transcript through Parchment, linked HERE.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR TRANSCRIPT!
Even if you think you don’t need a copy of your transcript today, you could need an official copy at any time in the next couple of years. To make sure you have SUPER EASY access to this important piece of information YOU HAVE TO ADD YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL TO YOUR PARCHMENT ACCOUNT! If you don’t, getting a copy of your transcript will be a hassle. AVOID THAT and change your email TODAY!!!

And if you don’t have a Parchment account, SET THAT UP RIGHT NOW! It’s super easy. Just go to Parchment.com.

Please remember: If you are attending a 2 or 4-year university you must order a final transcript from your account on Parchment.com and have it sent to the university you will be attending. If you need a final transcript for other purposes you can order and have it sent to yourself. When ordering, check box that says "hold for final grades." All counselors will be on break before grades are finalized so this is an important step!

~~ NO transcripts will be uploaded on Common app, Coalition, Send.edu OR Scoir!~~

Letters of Recommendation

Letters of recommendation need to be requested 2-3 weeks in advance of when they are needed.
You can request a letter of recommendation from your counselor by filling out this Letter of Rec form and leaving it with Mrs. Micheletti in the Counseling Office. There are also hard copies available on the wall in the Counseling Office.

Don’t be afraid to “brag” about yourself a little! Your counselor will use this information to recommend you for scholarships, college admissions, summer programs, and other honors/awards.

Graduate Requirement Information

Essential Skills and Career Related Learning requirements are waived for the Class of 2022 by the state of Oregon.

Honor Cords

Students may have earned cords through various accomplishments throughout high school. These cords should be worn with their robes. Here is a handy guide to what each of those cords mean:

Purple – All AP Honors

White – Honors Diploma

Gold – 3.5 GPA or above

2022 Parent Grad Party Committee

The graduation party is an all night, drug and alcohol free event for graduating senior students that is organized, funded and staffed by senior parents. All senior parents are welcome and encouraged to be involved! If you have fundraising or celebration ideas you can get involved by messaging the grad party organizers through any of these avenues:
