Graduation

Our 2024 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 10am in the Summit Stadium.

We will hand out Announcements in late April!

We will hand out Caps, Gowns & Cords at the senior meeting in late May.

Miners Grad Services will start taking orders in late September or early October. Check back here for full details!
You MUST wear a cap and gown to participate in graduation.

MANDATORY Grad Practice will be held a day or 2 prior to the ceremony in the Summit Stadium. Check back here for full details! You will not be allowed to walk in the ceremony on Saturday morning if you miss grad practice. Add it to your calendar now and we'll see you there!

If you are unable to walk at graduation please let me know right away: [email protected]

FROM OUR LIBRARY/MEDIA TECH CENTER:

SENIORS: do you have any files in your school accounts that you would like to save after you graduate? It is VERY IMPORTANT that you move these files to a personal account before graduation, when your school accounts will be deleted forever. Please see these instructions for doing this.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE! iPad/brick/cord combos and all library materials are due back a few days before graduation. Check back here for specific dates in the Spring. The brick and cord MUST be the ones the district issued with your iPad. If you do not return the proper brick and cord in good condition, the cost to replace is $20 for each item. The cost to repair a cracked iPad screen is $150 if you have not purchased insurance for this school year. iPads must be returned personally to Summit staff for inspection. Fines can be checked and paid for HERE.

Please ensure you are ONLY returning items directly to the library and not dropping them off at any other school location.

For any questions about graduation please contact: [email protected]

College and Career Center

Need help or have questions about life after high school? Jeff Rankin, our SHS College and Career Advisor, is a great resource for you! Visit him in B211, and check out the College and Career website HERE.

Transcripts

SHS provides transcripts to colleges, universities, trade schools and employers through Parchment.com for current and former students. Current and former students can create an account and request their transcript through Parchment, linked HERE.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR TRANSCRIPT!
Even if you think you don’t need a copy of your transcript today, you could need an official copy at any time in the next couple of years. To make sure you have SUPER EASY access to this important piece of information YOU HAVE TO ADD YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL TO YOUR PARCHMENT ACCOUNT! If you don’t, getting a copy of your transcript will be a hassle. AVOID THAT and change your email TODAY!!!

And if you don’t have a Parchment account, SET THAT UP RIGHT NOW! It’s super easy. Just go to Parchment.com.

Please remember: If you are attending a 2 or 4-year university you must order a final transcript from your account on Parchment.com and have it sent to the university you will be attending. If you need a final transcript for other purposes you can order and have it sent to yourself. When ordering, check the box that says "hold for final grades." All counselors will be on break before grades are finalized in June so this is an important step!

~~ NO transcripts will be uploaded on Common app, Coalition, Send.edu OR SCOIR in June!~~

Letters of Recommendation

Letters of recommendation need to be requested 2-3 weeks in advance of when they are needed.
You can request a letter of recommendation from your counselor by filling out this Letter of Rec form and leaving it with Mrs. Micheletti in the Counseling Office. There are also hard copies available on the wall in the Counseling Office.

Don’t be afraid to “brag” about yourself a little! Your counselor will use this information to recommend you for scholarships, college admissions, summer programs, and other honors/awards.

Graduate Requirement Information

Career Related Learning requirements [16 hours total of work or volunteering from 9th - 12th grade] are ON for the Class of 2024 per the state of Oregon. If you have questions about CRLES please ask your counselor or in the Future Center.

Honor Cords

Students may have earned cords through various accomplishments throughout high school. These cords should be worn with their robes at graduation. We will hand out cords in May with caps & gowns. Here is a handy guide to what each of those cords mean:

Purple – All AP Honors

White – Honors Diploma

Gold – 3.5 GPA or above

2024 Parent Grad Party Committee

The graduation party is an all night, drug and alcohol free event for graduating senior students that is organized, funded and staffed by senior parents. This party is not school or district sponsored. The district respectfully asks that party organizers continue to follow all guidelines set forth by the Governor's Office.

All senior parents are welcome and encouraged to be involved! If you have fundraising or celebration ideas you can get involved by messaging the grad party organizers:
