Realms High School
Make sure you or your student has signed up for their Better World Week Project!
At Realms HS we strive to be “Leaders of Change”. Better World Week is a great opportunity for us to bring that motto to life through engaging, week-long projects where students will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others in our community. As we wrap up this trimester of distance learning, we are also excited to offer students the opportunity to dig into one of five different hands-on, choice based and outside-the-box projects that build a sense of school-wide purpose, connection, and spirit.During this week, all 125 Realms HS students will be engaging in projects geared to improve our community. At times like these, many folks in our community REALLY need help, and at the same time, our students themselves can benefit from this opportunity to make a difference!
Projects on deck:
Supporting Those In Our Community Without Homes - students creating care kits with an emphasis on surviving the pandemic.
Gratitude Bots - inspired by Gary Hirsch's JoyBots, students will spread gratitude and joy in our community
ReThinking Our Yearbook: Insta Style - students will create an Instagram yearbook in which every one of our students receives a page of "Appreciation"
Machines That Make A Difference - students will be designing multi person "Rube Goldberg Machines" that create messages of appreciation and hope for essential workers in our community
Capturing COVID in Art - students will be capturing this moment in history through an art installation featuring "Zoom Style Portraits" of students in their new classroom - the video conference!
