2024-25 Registration Dates & Process

Track & Field (6th, 7th & 8th): Monday, February 17, 2024 @ 8:00am - Friday, March 21, 2025 @ 3:00pm

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Students become athletes only if all 3 of the following steps are complete. That means your student can not participate in any athletic events, camps, practices and/or games until they are cleared by the Athletic Secretary. Also, the registration closes per the dates listed above. No exceptions.

1. Register online through Arbiter Sports. Please do this first.

FamilyID is a secure, user-friendly online registration platform that streamlines the application process and allows parents to enter information once for multiple family members and athletic teams. Need help with FamilyID, click here to view short tutorial.

2. $40 Participation Fee and any outstanding fines/fees paid through Touchbase, Bend La Pine Schools secure online payment portal. Click Pay-to-Play and the option for the chosen sport will be shown.

3. Current sports physical on file. Make sure the main office has a current sports physical on file. All athletes need a current sports physical on file before the first day of practice.

New physical information: Sports physicals NOW expire 2 years from exam date and need to be renewed on a 2-year cycle to remain current. We encourage renewal between school years to avoid expiration during your sport season. Simply...for our fall sports season, physical forms must be dated on or after 5/31/2023 to be valid.

All physicals must be recorded on the OSAA Sports Physical Form or we can NOT accept it. Please be sure to print your the OSAA School Sports Pre-Participation Examination form before your appointment. Take it to your child's sports physical appointment. When you have completed the sports physical, please turn it in to the school.

Team Communications

All of our athletic coaches will use SportsYou for communications throughout the season. As soon as registrations close and rosters are complete, families will receive more information on how to sign-up for this valuable communication tool.

Middle School Athletic Philosophy

We believe that athletic participation provides a unique opportunity to fulfill many of the personal, social and physical needs common to middle school youth. Participation in appropriate competitive athletics increases an individual's sense of personal worth, self-discipline, respect and fair play, which can carry over into daily problem solving through life.

Coaches, teachers and parents have a shared responsibility to help guide, nurture and support youth in developing the confidence, skills and attitudes that will enable them to make good choices on and off the playing fields.

Through dedication, effort and practice, our youth will develop athletic skills determination and attitudes that will contribute to personal success as well as team goals. Our goal is to develop lifelong learners who enjoy and participate in a variety of healthful activities.

Central Oregon Middle School Athletic Policies

Bend-La Pine Schools' middle schools compete with other middle schools in the Central Oregon areas. All Central Oregon middle schools use the guidelines outlined by the C.O. Middle School Standard Operating Procedures for Athletics. These procedures are available in the athletic office.

Code of Conduct

Any student who participates in school-sponsored athletics or activities must agree to abide by the School District Board Policies, Administrative Rules, Code of Conduct, building rules, and team participation/training contracts. All students who participate in athletics and extracurricular activities are expected to be positive role models for other students and members of the community. Students should demonstrate good conduct at school and in the community at all times. To access the contract, please click here.

Bend-La Pine Schools requires you to be in class for the entire day of a contest or you will not be allowed to participate. Athletes are expected to be in school on time (8:50a.m.) the day of an athletic event and the day following.

Violations of school rules and or behavior issues may result in the temporary or permanent suspension from the athletic team.

Academics

School and classes come first. Student athletes must meet classroom expectations to participate in extracurricular activities. To be academically eligible to participate in any game, meet, or match, student athletes must be passing all of their classes. During the first week of competition, students with a failing grade will be notified of their discrepancy but will be allowed to participate during that week. Starting the second week of competition, student athletes with one or more failing grades will not be allowed to participate during competitions that week. While they may practice and attend games/meets to support their teammates, ineligible athletes may not leave school early for a game, meet, or match until they are in compliance with academic policy.

Late work may negatively affect a student athlete’s grades. If assignments are handed in late, teachers are not obligated to grade late work on the day it is submitted simply because a student athlete is ineligible. Teachers will grade late work when they have time.

Grade checks will be conducted every week during the season and eligibility will remain in effect through that particular week.
