Mountain View High School

Welcome to Mountain View High School

Home of the Cougars!

2021/22 School Year Notice: ALL incoming freshman and sophomore students will be required to complete a new ACR form if they want to attend a high school that is outside of their new home boundary; including those who are currently attending a high school on an approved ACR. A new ACR is required due to the multiple boundary changes created by the new high school and the desire to balance enrollment across high schools. All incoming freshmen and sophomore students will be pointed to their NEW HOME BOUNDARY SCHOOL for next year.

IMPORTANT: AREA CHANGE REQUEST FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 1 - NO EXCEPTIONS

Please review the Attendance Area & In-District Transfers policy page for more information.

Principal's Update - Winter 2021

I hope our Cougar families are healthy and well!

The week of Feb. 8, which is the start of a new semester, all students will begin balanced/hybrid learning. Families can read more about this learning model on the district website here: https://www.bend.k12.or.us/district/academics/hybr...

Due to class sizes and the sizes of our facilities, students will remain in balanced/hybrid learning for at least the near future. In hybrid, students will attend school for two days in-person and receive remote instruction and assignments on the other days. Wednesdays, students will attend classes via WebEx.

Our school schedule will shift to accommodate this plan. Please take a moment to review our Hybrid schedule, which will include adjusted start and dismissal times.

As we move toward this transition, our goals for your student will continue to be the same:

  • We believe we are strongest together. Our administrators, teachers and support staff will work together to support your student through the most unique educational journey in history.
  • We will strive to prioritize curriculum that is relevant, engaging, and accessible for our students.
  • No matter what learning environment we are in, we will prioritize relationships and community, and create an environment that is safe and welcoming for ALL students.

Our partnerships with our parents and community are more important than ever. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or ideas. I am humble and proud to serve our students and school during this time. Go Cougars!

Sincerely,

Michael Hicks, Principal
