Families, staff and community members are invited to meet finalists for the principal position at R.E. Jewell Elementary School during a community forum on Thursday, February 15. Candidates will be available from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the school library, 20550 Murphy Road, Bend.

Attendees will get a chance to ask questions, see presentations from the candidates and provide feedback about the finalists. The new principal will begin July 1.

Finalists are:

Beth Martin is currently in her first year as the Head of School at the Berkeley Academy for Multicultural Studies in Santa Ana, Costa Rica. Prior to her current role, Martin was the Principal at Kathryn Jones Harrison Elementary in Corvallis, Oregon since 2020. Prior to that, Martin was the Principal at Adams Elementary in Corvallis for two years. Martin also served as an MTSS and Instructional Coach for the Corvallis School District and has four years of classroom teaching experience in Oregon and Texas.

Jesse Rasmussen is currently in his first year as the Interim Principal at R.E. Jewell Elementary in Bend. Prior to this year, Rasmussen was the Assistant Principal at R.E. Jewell for 7 years. Prior to that role, Rasmussen spent 16 years as a classroom teacher; with 13 years at R.E. Jewell and 3 years internationally in the United Arab Emirates.

Kate Donegan is currently in her fifth year as the Principal at Trillium Creek Primary School in West Linn, Oregon. Prior to her current role, she was the Instructional Coordinator at Trillium Creek Primary School for seven years. Donegan has 14 years of experience teaching as a Reading Specialist, ELD Teacher, and Learning Specialist.

Familias, personal y miembros de la comunidad están invitados a conocer a los finalistas para el puesto de director en la Escuela Primaria R.E. Jewell durante un foro comunitario el jueves 15 de febrero. Los candidatos estarán disponibles de 5:30 a 6:30 p.m. en la biblioteca de la escuela, 20550 Murphy Road, Bend.
