Welcome to Kindergarten!

Kindergarten is a fun, engaging time for students to learn and grow together. Our classrooms are filled with learning and play, as our youngest students learn letters, numbers and social-emotional skills in warm classroom environments at our 19 elementary schools.

Follow these steps to get started and get connected with your school, teachers and fellow families.

Step 1: Find your school

All of our schools offer exceptional opportunities for students to learn and make connections in-person during full-day kindergarten. Learn which school your student will attend on our attendance area webpage

or view the elementary map.

Step 2: Find your school's Kindergarten Kickoff event - Info Coming!

This year our schools are hosting in-person Kindergarten Kickoff events for new kindergarten families. Visit our Kindergarten Registration Event page to find an event at your school.

Step 3: Gather key documents

Get ready to register for kindergarten by gathering some key documents. You'll need the following:

  • Proof of address (ex: utility bill, rental agreement...)
  • Birth verification (kindergartners must be age 5 on or before September 1, 2023)
  • Immunization records (ex: CIS form, certificate of immunizations...)
  • Recent special education records (if applicable)
  • Custody documents (if applicable)

Step 4: Enroll now

Families are encouraged to enroll in kindergarten now. It's a great way to get connected with your school, so families can receive updates and information. Additionally, it helps schools plan ahead.

Enroll students using one of two methods. Click on the links below for step-by-step instructions:

Step 5: Get Connected - Bus, Meals and Support

After your student is enrolled, it's time to think about details like:

Step 6: Mark your calendar

Your school will reach out with information about your child's first day. You can also download our at-a-glance calendar to mark upcoming key dates for the 2023-24 school year.
