February 8, 2022: Regular School Board Business Meeting

Time: Meeting Time: 5:30 p.m.

Location: The meeting of the Bend-La Pine Schools' (BLS) Board of Directors will be closed to public attendance due to increased health and safety risks. To allow for public attendance of the meeting, the meeting will be live streamed via the BLS SchoolBoard YouTube page.

Masks: Masks are required inside Bend-La Pine Schools buildings as per the statewide indoor mask mandate issued on August 11, 2021. Masks are available at the door if needed.

Accessibility: When meeting in person, Board Meeting audience capacity is limited to 50. Meetings are available via live streaming at BLS SchoolBoard YouTube to maximize public access. Business meetings are live streamed in both English and Spanish and closed captioning is also provided. If additional accommodations are needed for meeting access, please contact Bend-La Pine Schools at (541) 355-1001, at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting date.

Bend-La Pine Schools' Board of Directors Meeting Schedule:

  • Regular Board Meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month during which regular business is completed, actions are taken and public comment is received.
  • Work Sessions are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month during which the Board engages in discussion on key Board work and initiatives.

Doors open to the public 15 minutes before the start of the meeting. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held in the Boardroom of the Bend-La Pine Schools Education Center, 520 NW Wall Street, Bend, Oregon.

Public comment during meetings:

The Board of Directors values public input. The role of the Board of Directors is to actively listen to and reflect on public comments. Each person wishing to address the Board must sign-up individually for the Public Comment period on business meeting agendas. To provide public comment, please complete the GOOGLE FORM LINKED HERE. The form will open the Friday prior to the meeting date, or after public meeting notice has been made, and will be open for sign up until 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.

The guidelines for public comment emphasize respect and consideration of others. Public Comment allows the Board and Superintendent to hear issues of interest, but does not allow an opportunity for dialogue between the speaker, Board, or Superintendent. The Board may ask staff to follow up on public comments or questions raised during the public comment period.

Complaints about individual employees should follow the District Complaint Process.

The Board of Directors values your input. Constituents are encouraged to submit questions, concerns, or kudos via the School Board Listening Post on the Board Member contact page at any time. All members of the Board will read and review your correspondence.
