What is Luna?

An evening option for high school juniors and seniors from all Bend-La Pine Schools.

What can Luna do for students?

  • Help develop a plan for graduation and beyond
  • Assist with job, volunteer, and internship placements
  • Build real-world skills
  • Teach and develop skills and knowledge in a variety of areas
  • Encourage success

Why would a student attend Luna?

  • A student needs an additional class to graduate on time
  • A student needs a different schedule from a typical high school day
  • A student wants a smaller setting
  • A student would like to take some classes at their high school, but would like to take online classes at night

What kind of help will the student receive?

  • Luna has hired 7 experienced licensed teachers to help students with their classes
  • Math, science and English teachers will be available to help every evening
  • The ratio of teacher to student is 1 teacher to 8 students

What curriculum will be used?

  • Students will use the Bend-La Pine Online Curriculum
  • Bend-La Pine Online offers a variety of elective classes and all of the required classes for graduation

How does a student sign up?

Students should talk to their high school counselor about attending Luna. Counselors and administrators can refer students.

Parents and students can also contact Stephanie Bennett, Luna Coordinator, for additional information.

Students will be accepted as space permits. Home school students are encouraged to apply, as well.

Where will a student graduate?

All students will graduate with their home high school.

Luna is a program to help students graduate on time. It has flexible scheduling for students who need or want a later schedule.

How long will it take to finish a class?

Students will be required to come to Luna two days a week, but may come four if there is room.
