Our school counselors play a crucial role in enhancing students’ educational experiences and provide essential emotional and academic support. One such school counselor from High Desert Middle School was named February’s Champion for Students.
Help us celebrate counselor Brettney Bryant!
Brettney’s nomination came from fellow High Desert staff member Katy Carrillo, who said this:
Brettney is so great at helping students to navigate the torment of middle school adolescent emotions. She has such a calm demeanor that ripples out to the students. Brettney can dig into a tough conversation in a gentle way. The students consistently comment about how she is there for them when they need her; to me that is the definition of being a champion for students.
High Desert Principal Jessica Reilly added,
Brettney goes above and beyond for students. She has planned so many activities for students like our Golden Ticket Event, and our Red Carpet Attendance Party. Whatever needs to be done, Brettney will take on!
At the Board meeting on February 11, Brettney was honored for her exceptional dedication and skill as a middle school counselor, guiding students through the challenging waters of adolescence. Her calm demeanor and gentle approach to tough conversations provide a safe and supportive space for students to express themselves. Her ability to be present for students in their times of need makes an invaluable impact on the High Desert Middle School community, deeply appreciated by all. Bend-La Pine Schools is proud to count Brettney Bryant among our Champion for Students!
