Join us in celebrating our October Champion for Students - English Language Arts teacher Dawn Grady from La Pine Middle School! Dawn makes a meaningful impact on her community every day by advising the WEB program.
If you are not familiar with WEB - it stands for Where Everybody Belongs and features 8th grade students volunteering to welcome new 6th graders. The older students help 6th graders adjust to middle school life and feel welcome and included throughout the school year. Through WEB, Dawn Grady guides La Pine Middle School in building a positive school culture.
Principal Brian Barringer shared, "Dawn’s attention to detail and tireless work inspires everyone in our building. Being our WEB Advisor, Dawn is a crucial part of welcoming our incoming 6th graders to La Pine Middle School. Dawn makes sure to cover all the essential pieces a 6th-grade student needs to be successful. After WEB Day, students feel welcomed, safe, and valued. She ensures students are prepared and put in a position to thrive. Dawn is also a fantastic team member. The staff loves her positive attitude and solution-seeking approach to anything that comes her way."
Dawn’s impact goes beyond the WEB program. Assistant Principal Darla Brandon said, "Dawn is a dedicated educator that has a heart for our community of staff and students. She is invested in building a safe and rigorous learning environment through clear expectations, skillful teaching practices, and strong relationships. Her positive and encouraging energy helps drive school initiatives and inspires staff to continue moving forward."
