The school is collecting nonperishable food items for NeighborImpact. Donations accepted at the school.

Screen Free Week at High Lakes Elementary School

Families, students and staff are encouraged to join in the school-wide screen free week. The school is coordinating at number of related events, including a park clean up event and more.

“Into the Woods” at Summit High School

Join us for a production of James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's Tony award winning musical Into the Woods, which explores the idea of what happens after ever after. Follow the journey of familiar fairy tale characters such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and Rapunzel on their journeys to get the things they want. Act 1 is appropriate for all ages, but Act 2 may only be appropriate for mature audiences ready to learn the lesson that our actions can sometimes have tragic consequences. Showtimes are Feb. 7-8 at 7 p.m.; Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. and Feb. 13-15 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission, $8 students and seniors.

Many students, including those from Mountain View High School, will join the Polar Plunge at Riverbend Park to raise money to support Life Skills Unified sports teams.

Members of Bend Senior High School’s choir will spread love and cheer in the community through their val-o-grams event, which also serves as a fundraiser for the choir. For $20, individuals can send two songs and a piece of chocolate. Order forms are available online.

Westside Village Magnet at Kingston School is putting on a performance of this Dr. Seuss story of the Lorax at the Tower Theater. Tickets are $10 adults, $5 children.

Misoula Children’s Theater will work with students from R.E. Jewell to create a play based on Peter Pan, with two culminating performances on Saturday.

Share the Love Rummage Sale at Pacific Crest Middle School

National Junior Honors Society students are sponsoring an event to raise money for the school’s Sparrow, Alaric. Community members are invited to visit the school and shop for gently used items. Attendees make a donation at the door and are then invited to take one item of their choosing. All proceeds will benefit the Sparrow.

Attendance Area Request Change Forms Due

Students may choose to apply to attend a neighborhood high school outside of their attendance area where space is available with an approved Attendance Area Change Request (ACR). Families must submit an ACR form to their home area high school for approval by Monday, March 2. Learn more at our Attendance Area webpage.

  • Oregon Girls Cross-Country Runner of the Year: Summit High School’s Fiona Max was recently named the Oregon girls cross country runner of the year. This is the second year in a row that Fiona has earned this top distinction.

  • March 2: All sophomores in Bend-La Pine Schools are invited to participate in a unique career conference that includes local speakers and more. The event takes place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • March 20: Deadline for families to apply for a K-8 choice option school or the Spanish Dual Immersion Program (deadline is 3 p.m.). Learn more and apply online at our Choice Option webpage.
  • April 13: Bend-La Pine Schools will host the Central Oregon Educator Job Fair from non to 6 p.m. at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Redmond. The job fair is for licensed staff members, grades K-12. Interested individuals should register in advance to avoid delays on the day of the event. This event is free and open to the public.
