Gallinat has served on the Board of Directors since 2007, and prior from 2003-05. He was board chair and key member for many committees, including calendar decision making, attendance area review, budget and strategic planning.
Gallinat's top priorities while serving were to focus on fiscal responsibility, ensuring safe schools and keeping Bend-La Pine Schools as one of the highest achieving districts in Oregon.
Gallinat is a father of two Bend-La Pine Schools graduates and is the owner of Central Oregon Employee Benefits, LLC.
"One of the many ways Ron showed he cared for our staff and our schools was by showing up to every staff appreciation breakfast throughout the year. We could always count on Ron to be ready serve," said Shay Mikalson, Superintendent.
Helt served on the Board of Directors since 2010 and resigned in the winter of 2019 after her election as an Oregon State Representative. Helt also served on the Oregon School Board Association Legislative Policy Committee, the PERS Legislative Advisory Committee and Bend-La Pine Schools Education Foundation board.
Helt's priorities included advocating to make education Oregon's top funding priority. She is passionate about serving students' social and emotional needs and providing options for student learning.
Helt is a mother of three and owner of Zydeco Kitchen & Cocktails and Bistro 28 in Bend.
"During her service on the board, Cheri served as a tireless advocate for our students and schools," said Shay Mikalson, Superintendent.
High has served on the Board of Directors since 2013 and is currently Chair. He served as co-chair of the 2013 school construction bond campaign and has been a member of the budget committee, Sites and Facilities Committee and the attendance area review committee.
High's priorities include reducing class size, creating opportunities for students and being a good steward of taxpayer money.
High is a father of three and owner of Thompson Pump & Irrigation, Inc. He is a volunteer coach.
"Andy brought great perspective to the board from our construction community and was passionate about building new schools and bond projects," said Shay Mikalson, Superintendent.
Kinkade has served on the Board of Directors since 2007. She was part of the successful 2017, 2013 and 2006 school construction bond campaigns. She has been a board chair, a board member for Bend-La Pine Schools' Education Foundation and served on Sites and Facilities committee and construction committees.
Kinkade will continue to serve local students, as she is going to become a board member for the High Desert Education Service District.
Kinkade's priority while on the board was to find ways to provide an excellent education with the resources available, so every student has an opportunity to succeed.
Kinkade is a mother of three Bend-La Pine Schools graduates and is an active volunteer in classrooms and at her local church.
"We will miss Peggy's level-headed guidance and leadership as well as her passion for public education and serving all students," said Shay Mikalson, Superintendent.
