School Calendar Changes Set

Making Sure Students Receive Education They Deserve

Article Date: Mar 07, 2019

Bend-La Pine Schools Families:

Bend-La Pine Schools’ students are fortunate to receive exceptional learning opportunities in our schools every day. Record-setting February snowfall, however, resulted in our canceling school for four days. We know that our students are best served when our schools are in session. Making sure that our students receive the education that they deserve is a priority – that is why we will be making up missed school days this spring and extending our school year so that it now ends Friday, June 14.

The revised 2018-19 calendar:

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

  • Wednesday, April 10 —School Improvement Wednesday schedule
  • Thursday, April 11 — Full school day
  • Friday, April 12 — Conferences (no school)
  • Thursday, June 13 — Full school day
  • Friday, June 14 —School Improvement Wednesday schedule

MIDDLE SCHOOL

  • Friday, April 12 — Full school day

Bend-La Pine Schools’ students are fortunate to receive exceptional learning opportunities every day in our schools and we believe it is important to make up for the lost days. The following are some answers to a few likely questions:Where can I find the new calendar?

Downloadable versions of the revised 2018-19 School Calendar are available on our Calendar webpage.

Are graduation dates changing?

No. We know many families have made plans to celebrate this special occasion on the established dates and we want to honor these plans.

What about parent-teacher conferences?

We encourage families to contact teachers at any time to check their student(s) progress and know that communication is not limited just to conference time. Eliminating or reducing parent-teacher conference time should not preclude open dialogue and in-person communication between families and teachers.

Thank you for your partnership,
