Aaron Meyer Performs Original Class Songs at Three Rivers School
Musician Aaron Meyer has been working with students at Three Rivers School to create original class songs. He will perform them alongside the students during a special concert. This artist in residence opportunity is thanks to Sunriver Music Festival.

Story Book Chair Auction for High Desert Middle School
Students from High Desert Middle School’s advanced art class created story book chairs designed to inspire younger students to read and be creative. A few chairs will be auctioned off along with the books that inspired the art at a one-day event at Big Story Books and Games, 228 NE Greenwood Ave., Bend. Starting bids are $50. Summit Theatre Company Silent Auction and Improv Showcase

Holiday Food Drive and Giving Tree at Elk Meadow Elementary School
Students will host a food drive competition, giving the items to local families in need. The school will also collect donations of new winter boots, coats and gloves during that time.
“A Modern Christmas Carol” at Mountain View High School
The drama students will perform this classic holiday tale. Performances at Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.; Dec. 2 at 2 and 7 p.m.; and Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.

Cascade Middle School Collection Drive for Veterans
Cascade Middle School is encouraging donations of canned food, blankets, diapers and other items for Central Oregon Veterans Outreach. All items can be donated at the Cascade library.

Financial Literacy Class at Bend Senior High School
Bend High’s DECA club is hosting a series of financial literacy classes aimed at seniors to teach these students about budgeting, credit and other issues related to finances to prepare them for life after high school. Times are 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Dec. 5 and Dec. 14; 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Dec. 6 and Dec. 13.

Summit High School drama students will host a storytelling workshop for elementary school students. Featuring poems by Shel Silverstein, students will learn how to properly use and care for their voice and learn more about projection, creating characters’ voices and more. Adolescent Wellness Series at Bend Senior High School
Bend Senior High School is hosting an Adolescent Wellness Series for interested community members, parents and guardians. The first in the series will feature Kathy Biles, from Oregon State University – Cascades Campus, and Whitney Shumaker and Nick Stevenson from Deschutes County Health Services, who will speak about substance use in adolescents. The event is free and open to the public. Upcoming topics in the series will include suicide prevention, depression and anxiety and social media awareness. Bend Food Project Pick Up at Ponderosa Elementary School
Ponderosa has again teamed up with the Bend Food Project for a year-long giving campaign. Students give nonperishable food items on specific pick up days, when volunteers come to help sort and collect the items. So far, students and staff have collected more than 2,600 pounds of food, with a goal of collecting more than 8,000 pounds this year.
