Community Invited to HS Engagement Event

Share Dreams, Priorities for Our Schools Oct. 24

Article Date: Oct 13, 2017

Parents, staff, students and community members are invited to an engagement session on Tuesday, Oct. 24 to hear about today’s high school successes, high schools in development and to provide their dreams and priorities for improvement for our current and future high schools.

Thanks to the support of the community, Bend-La Pine Schools will open a new high school in southeast Bend in the fall of 2021.

This is the first opportunity in a series of engagement sessions that will take place over the next few years that will help inform academic offerings and the student experience at high schools throughout the district. During this interactive session, community members will hear from Superintendent Shay Mikalson and Deputy Superintendent Jay Mathisen and have the opportunity to meet with members of the Board of Directors to share their dreams and priorities for improvement for our high schools.

Details: Our High Schools Today and Into the Future will take place at Silver Rail Elementary School Oct. 24, from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at http://bit.ly/BLShighschools
