Winnie the Pooh Bus Event Aug. 18-20

New Riders Learn Safety, Ride Bus

New bus riders, kindergarten students and their families are invited to learn about bus safety and take a spin on a school bus during Winnie the Pooh School Bus Safety programs at Bend Transportation Department’s Bus Center. During the events, families will watch a short movie featuring Winnie the Pooh, learn about the rules of the bus, ride a bus together and enjoy refreshments.

The one-hour sessions take place at 501 SE Second St., Bend (at the corner of Second and Wilson avenues in Bend).

Details:

  • Thursday, Aug. 18, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 19, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 20, 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

“We love helping our newest students learn about bus safety and the lessons will stick with them throughout the year,” said Kim Crabtree, Director of Transportation. “Students who attend will feel confident to ride the bus in September, and parents will feel confident after seeing the safety features of our buses.”

At the events, student learn how to cross the street safely, line up to wait for the bus and behave while riding the bus. The event is aimed at kindergarten students and any students who are unfamiliar with bus safety.
