Celebrating Two Athletes of the Year

Students Named Best Soccer, Track Athletes in State

Article Date: Jun 06, 2016

We offer a huge congratulations to two of our athletes for winning Oregon Sports Awards top honors.

La Pine High School's Justin Petz was named the Prep Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

Summit High School's Christina Edwards was named the Prep Soccer Athlete of the Year.

Petz helped lead the Hawks to a best-ever second place in state and won his fourth consecutive state title in the pole vault. Edwards helped lead the Summit High girls soccer team to a state title this year.

Summit's Olivia Brooks was also named as a finalist for three categories: Cross Country Athlete of the Year; Prep Track Athlete of the Year; and overall Prep Athlete of the Year.

We are proud of all of our student athletes and celebrate these students for their outstanding efforts this year.
