Article Date: May 10, 2016

Mountain View High School student Sage Hassell won the Congressional Art Contest for her acrylic painting "Flaunt It."

The painting will be on display in the US Capitol for a year alongside other winning entries from across the country.

As part of the prize, Sage was awarded two round trip tickets to visit Washington, D.C. and attend the opening reception for the artwork and get the chance to see her work on display in person.

Sage was a runner-up for the competition last year with a different painting and that has been hanging in the local congressional offices.
