Support for Families FAQ

Will meals be served?

Absolutely.

Families can find a list of schools serving free Grab and Go meals on our School Meals webpage.

While we know that some specifics for these services may look different, we will continue to provide meals to our students.

What if my family needs help with internet access?

Families can reach out to their Family Access Network advocate or connect with their school's main office to facilitate the process by which they can obtain help with home internet connectivity. Find a list of FAN advocates, as well as other resources on our Families in Need webpage.

My family needs help with energy costs, clothing, food, rental assitance or other general needs. What can we do?

Each school has a Family Access Network advocate to help connect families with resources. Find a list of FAN advocates, as well as other resources on our Families in Need webpage.

How will schools and staff support the mental and social-emotional health of students?

School teams are prepared to help support the mental health needs of students when school resumes in the fall, whether classes are in person or remote. We will be prepared to address the traumatic nature of having collectively lived through a global pandemic, as well as an individual’s need for transition back to the building. In addition to our current mental, social, and emotional initiatives, we will be adding specific programming to address the events of the past 6 months.

Middle and high school students can reach out to school counselors to connect. Additionally, all students can find resources on the FirstStep app, located on every school iPad.

Families can find additional resources on our Student Mental Health webpage.
