Bond Updates

March 2019: Master planning for this project is underway and a public meeting was held in February to review two options. $10 million from the 2017 bond will be used on a first phase for the plan.

October 2018: Master planning and tours with the design team have started. Visioning meetings with a student panel will begin in early November.

May 2018: Master planning for the school started in April and includes teachers, office staff, additional staff members, the principal, a board member and other district-level administrators as well as BBT Architects. Planning will continue in the fall and winter.

January 2018: BBT Architects are in contract negotiations to complete work on Bend Senior High School. Master planning and visioning work will follow.

Total Estimated Project Cost: $15.7 million

Modernize instructional space

Instructional spaces at Bend Senior High School, which was built in 1955, will be modernized and master planning for the site will occur. The production kitchen will also be expanded.

Safety improvements

A new secure lobby will be constructed.

Maintenance and preservation

New roofs will be installed on several buildings at the school including trophy hall, main office, A hall, B Building, cafeteria, main gym, auditorium, mini gym and S building.

Technology

New technology includes a new intercom system, installing ceiling projector mounts, installing key card access for exterior doors, modernizing HVAC controls and modernizing wireless wiring.
