Cascade Middle School
On April 18th, we will be hosting a “Meet Your Match” volunteering information session. This is the first time we are hosting such an event and we hope you and your student can join us.
Prior to this evening, students will hear from Volunteer Central Oregon and Counselors in their Social Studies classes on April 8th and 9th. In these classes, students will hear about the importance of giving back to your community and the impact it can have. We believe that students can give back and learning doesn’t start and stop at school.
Then on April 18th, you and your student will get to hear about how they can make a difference and have a chance to talk to a variety of volunteer organizations in the community that have opportunities for middle school students. Students will be encouraged to find an organization that “matches” their interests and passions and find out how to get started. We are so proud of our students and the community they create at Cascade. Too often students at this age group feel as though they can’t make a difference because they aren’t old enough. This isn’t true and we are hoping to show them what they can do to give back and make Bend a stronger community. We hope to see you on the 18th!
