Juniper Elementary School
Built in 1965, Juniper was once called Pilot Butte Elementary. We are located on the west side of Pilot Butte and have a creative campus of five separate buildings at different levels and wonderful activity areas. A true neighborhood school, many of our students walk or ride bikes to school.
If you could watch a day in the life of a Juniper student, you would see them have many positive interactions with teachers and staff alike, healthy socializing with their peers, focused instruction in language arts and math, balanced with creative studies in music, and a preponderance of technology instruction integrated into almost every content area, topped off with some healthy doses of movement and activity in PE. We are committed to teaching students state mandated standards and incorporating the Common Core State Standards as appropriate, without sacrificing exciting enrichment opportunities that enhance the overall educational experience. Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) systems have existed at Juniper for more than 11 years. Incredibly successful in creating a safe and respectful learning environment for all students, PBIS also institutes high expectations for self-management and allows students and staff to focus on learning and instruction.
The Juniper staff is here to serve you. We are dedicated to developing a love of learning in all of our children. Students are most successful when school personnel work closely with parents to meet the unique needs of each individual student. You are invited and encouraged to participate in, and get involved with, your child's education in any way possible. We look forward to working with you to ensure your child's success. If you have any questions about anything, please don't hesitate to call or stop by the office for a visit. Our door is always open.
Thanks!
