Dear Highland Families,

It was such a pleasure to celebrate our staff appreciation week with all the fun food and goodies, but the biggest treat of all was celebrating it with our parent volunteers setting up our staff lounge in such a festive manner. Thank you so much - the notes, the flowers and treats were so special. You are truly an amazing community!

Highland Heroes Follow Up!

A HUGE heartfelt thank you for everyone who came to donate blood and join the marrow registry! We had an amazing turn out of support and this event was full of love! Thanks to all our Highland Heroes we:

  • Had 19 first time blood donors
  • Donated 25 units of blood ( that will help 75 people in need!!)
  • Had 10 people join the match registry!

We hope to continue this event twice a year so be on the lookout for another opportunity in the fall. If you missed your opportunity and still want to join the marrow registry ( super easy cheek swab) stop by the office, we would be thrilled to help you!

Important Info from the PTO: Highland Spring Carnival!

Save the date! We are so excited to announce our first PTO sponsored in person event in 2.5 YEARS on May 13th!!! We will be hosting a spring carnival full of fun, games, prizes, and community! In the past this has been a community supported event with parents, grandparents, and older students helping with games and prizes and we can't do it without your help!. We need 125 volunteers to make this a successful event!

Highland Variety Show!

We are planning for an in-person variety show this year. Auditions will start on Friday 5/20 and run through Thursday 5/26, mainly after school. Please keep your act between 20-80 seconds. All acts must be appropriate and well-prepared on audition day to be included. Many will be shortened, as needed, to keep our show under 90 minutes. This year we must limit our show to 100 participants. Priority will be given to well-prepared acts and acts involving 4th and 5th grade students. Parents can help avoid disappointment by monitoring their students' plans and progress and encouraging their children to "wait till next year" if they think their student may not be well prepared by audition day. Traditionally the Highland Variety Show strives to be a very inclusive event, however we must operate a little differently this year - thank you for understanding!
