Principal Letter

Dear Highland Families,

It’s been a great week. The friezes are taking shape in each of the classrooms. Students are starting various journeys across our continent, through time and to places of imagination! It’s a great time to be a Highland Piper! Kudos and thank you to teachers and parent-volunteers for making each of these experiences happen for our students.

Traffic Alert: Next Friday afternoon, Bend High School will be hosting the Oxford Classic Cross Country race in Drake Park. There are several different high schools competing in six different races starting at 1:00. This means our parking along Harmon and traffic for the afternoon will probably be impacted quite a bit. We will try to provide another reminder that afternoon, but I am hopeful everyone can just come prepared with even more patience and understanding ahead of time.

Also, it looks like we might need to think about winter driving much earlier than usual as I see snowflakes on my weather app for next week. That just seems crazy, even for central Oregon! Please be sure to be extra cautious on the roads and give plenty of time to make it to your destination. I do value punctuality, but I value your safety far more.

Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Brian Kissell
