Principal’s Letter

Dear Highland Families;

Thank you to everyone for your kind gifts of letters, cards, messages and treats for the military personnel on the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt. I am so proud to witness these meaningful acts of kindness reach around the globe. Thank you to our Roots & Shoots club for collecting the items and preparing them for shipment.

As so many of you witnessed this week, the work is finally under way for our new gym. Please remember the entire parking lot is an active construction zone and off limits to all unauthorized vehicles and foot traffic. To help us avoid any delays in progress, please resist the temptation to park (even for a minute) in the parking lot. We really appreciate your cooperation.

I cannot believe we are looking at Thanksgiving on our doorstep! I know every year seems busy and quick, but this one is really challenging my sense of time. I honestly feel like we just started school a few weeks ago. As we prepare for our week away from school, I want to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving break. If you are traveling, please travel safely; and if you are sticking around town, I hope to see you around.

School Supplies? Instead of a list of specific supplies for families to purchase, we invite families to make voluntary donations to Highland PTO to help defray the cost of classroom school supplies. We estimate the cost to be about $30 per student over the course of the school year. If you have not had a chance to contribute, and you would like to, please view the PTO website or drop a check off in the PTO box in the school office.
