NO cellphones in my room. I will take them until the end of the day if I see them out. The #1 Complaint employers have about interviews is that the people interviewing are texting during the interview. NO! You WILL NOT get hired if you text in an interview.
Late work will receive less credit unless other arrangements are madeBEFORE the due date.
NO disposable water bottles in my classroom. Please bring a reusable container for your water. Please recycle all containers and paper in my recycling bins.
Grading Philosophy
All work submitted to a teacher is not of equal quality. Many students believe that simply handing in class work assures them of full credit. In my classroom, this is not the case. To assist you, the following is a list of criteria upon which your work will be evaluated.
Accuracy
Completeness
Organization
Effort and Thought Process
It is the student's responsibility to work for the grade they desire to achieve. In other words, grades are earned-not given, and indicate the student's level of achievement and effort in my classroom. If students are not satisfied with their grades, then I'm available to help those students who are willing to put in the effort to improve them. Simply ask!
You need a D to earn credit for this course. I KNOW you can do this.
Grades will be assigned on a point system. The points earned on an assignment/quiz/test will be recorded, not the letter grade. Grades will be based on
Classwork/Homework
Unit Quizzes
Final Exam
Partially finished work will not receive credit. All work must be completed by the unit deadline. Test may only be taken one time so be prepared.
I look forward to having you in class and working with you!
