Welcome to the 2014-2015 School Year
All Aboard for A Great Year! We are so happy to be getting the new school year underway. We are looking forward to another year working with our Rocket Families and providing the best education for our students. Our number one priority is your student's safety and well-being. We work continually to provide a nurturing and respectful environment for all students and staff.
Each year staff also work very thoughtfully on creating goals to improve teaching and learning. We are always working to make sure all students needs are met and that each student has significant growth both academically and socially. I wanted to take some time to share our goals with you.
1. School staff will work with families to provide needed resources to support their children's learning.
2. All teachers use instructional strategies and initiatives that are grounded in evidence-based practices, strengthen the core academic program, increase the quality and quantity of learning time, and address the learning needs of all students.
3. All instructional staff use assessment data in planning and delivering differentiated, standards based instruction.
We measure these goals with assessments, survey data, and growth data. And while these goals are quite wordy, we do take them seriously and know that keeping the student and his/her learning at the center of our work is our foundation.
Again, I welcome you to the 2014-2015 school year and I look forward to working with you. Please never hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns, clarifications or celebrations.
