Welcome To Our Wonderful School!

Ponderosa Elementary School opened its doors for the first time on September 2, 2008 with an enrollment of 465 students!  Today, we are beginning our third school year with 600 students strong.  Our sparkly school is still like new and is situated on approximately 10 acres northeast of town with picturesque views of the white snow-capped mountains and of historical Pilot Butte.

Come and experience a school where kids come first!  All staff members are hired for their passion for the profession and the desire to make a difference in the lives of children.  Ponderosa staff recognize that there are many ways to learn and many successful teaching styles. We pride ourselves by teaching to the "whole child".

The building is efficiently designed to cluster group the grade levels into four separate wings to focus on the Oregon grade level benchmark skills.  Yet if you listen, you will hear the laughter of the total school community playing and learning in the crisp Central Oregon air on our spacious playgrounds surrounded by the newly developed Pine Nursery Park. 

All staff members are highly qualified with updated technology instructional skills and national best teaching practices to teach to high standards.  Art, Music, Physical Education, Project-based Instruction and Enrichment Activities are considered an integral part of our educational journey.  Extreme care is given to provide the best education for each and every child! Every day is a "Yellow Day" at Ponderosa!
