Art Club

Kids meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month and create art using various media, including paint, pencils, and clay.  Art Club is a great place for kids to make friends and create art in an environment that supports creative freedom.  Kids' artwork is displayed on campus and entered into contests, such as the Cray-Pas National contest, if they choose.  The Art Club also takes on school-support projects.  For example, last year they beautifully painted all of our campus trashcans.  A snack is served at every meeting despite the fact that the club is run on a shoestring budget without grant funding this year.

Drama Club

Kids in Drama Club meet twice per week to learn scenes and a full-length production.  As performances near, they attend more than twice per week.  This year, kids will audition for parts.  The club culminates with several performances including one for fifth grade students from Juniper Elementary, several for PBMS students, and invitation-only evening performances for parents and friends of the performers.

Homework Club

Several teachers host separate homework clubs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.  These teachers represent expertise in reading, writing, science, math, and humanities.

Jazz Band

Now in its 3rd year, the PBMS Jazz Band is technically not a club but an elective class that is held every morning from 6:50-7:40 am.  Kids in Jazz Band perform at after-school functions, our seasonal concerts, and in contests around the state of Oregon.

WEB

WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) is our 8th grade leadership group that works to promote positive school culture, acceptance, and school spirit.  Although WEB is an elective class during the school day, they are frequently involved with after-school activities.

Science Club

The Science Club meets after school on Thursdays from 2:45-3:30 in Mrs. Behrens' room E1.  Students have an opportunity to work on projects, such as the Bend Research Inventerprise project, challenge up science projects or classroom experiments.  Students receive a snack provided by Nutritional Services.  Check with Mrs. Behrens for more details.

Yearbook

The yearbook is created online in our computer lab and requires kids to complete training in use of the online application.  The kids in yearbookfully design the yearbook and take many of the photos during school and at after-school events.  For the past two years, we have been doing a full-color softcover yearbook for $15.00.
