7th Grade Humanities

At Cascade Middle School, 7th grade Humanities is a two period block course that integrates Language Arts and Social Studies.  The literacy skills of reading, writing, speaking, listening, comprehending, and thinking will be featured.  Students will also gain practice in grammar, punctuation, and writing skills.  Writing assignments will include all writing modes identified by the State of Oregon:  persuasive, narrative, expository, descriptive and imaginative.

In Social Studies, the historical period to be covered begins with The Roman Empire and proceeds through the Byzantine Empire, The Middle Ages, Feudal Japan, Sub-Saharan Africa, The Renaissance, The Reformation, and The Age of Exploration.
