All Cascade science teachers are certificated to teach science. Science teachers teach sixth graders and loop with their seventh graders into eighth grade. Because all the science teachers teach all courses, our three-year science curriculum is guaranteed to all Cascade students. As with the math department, the science teachers determine the number of sections to be taught at each level and by whom. Science instruction is hands-on and inquiry based. Teachers provide a variety of field trips including a short outdoor school experience for sixth graders and sojourns to Crater Lake, Mt. St. Helens, Newport and locals in Central Oregon.
