About Us
High Lakes is a high performing K-5 elementary school that supports Northwest Bend. We have received the Oregon Department of Education distinction of "Outstanding" the last six of seven years. We believe that all children can learn and expericence success. The physical layout of HLE supports four wings or "lakes." Each lake houses a grade level team where the teachers work in "Professional Learning Communities" to ensure that all children are successful. High Lakes offers physical education, music and library/technology classes to all students, grades 1 - 5. We also have a very strong art history program that is provided by the High Lakes PTA. The PTA at High Lakes is extremely active and is an integral part of why our school is so successful. For the past several years the PTA has been instrumental with supplying our school with additional technology. There are many differant ways to participate and/or volunteer. We welcome all parents at all times. Our school Site Council meets throughout the year to give input on school issues, programs, grants, staff development, and budget. They are important partners in the daily operation of our school.
