Help Buckingham by doing the things
you do everyday...

Helping out Buckingham has never been easier. We are trying to phase out traditional fundraising and replace it with passive fundraising. But in order to this we need everyone to take a few minutes to initiate the process.  There are several opportunities that our PTA has identified and are supporting.

The easiest is to register your Safeway.  We earn money when you spend money at Safeway.  Last year alone the PTA earned over $9,000 from people shopping at Safeway and the money the PTA earns goes right back to our classrooms. Please visit the PTA website www.buckinghampta.com to learn more.

Volunteer Background Checks - VERY IMPORTANT

There is a new process for school volunteer background checks. The good news is that the new form is online and that the turnaround on this process is very quick 24-48 hours.  The bad news is that everyone has to complete the new form - even if you submitted a form last year.   You may also access the form from home at: volunteer.bend.k12.or.us/

We have a computer set up in the office that parents may use to submit their form. Please bring your identification with you.

Principal's Message...

It is a privilege to serve as principal of Buckingham. Our school has an outstanding reputation and is filled with enthusiastic students willing to learn, supportive parents/guardians interested in their children's education, and a dedicated professional staff committed to providing the students with a quality education.

Buckingham Elementary School is a kindergarten through grade 5 school of approximately 490 students.  We are a positive learning community committed to working together for the success of all students. Buckingham's staff works collaboratively to best meet the needs of our students. At Buckingham, we utilize a Response to Intervention framework so that all students receive high quality support matched to individual needs and goals. Individual progress is monitored frequently to insure that instruction is having the desired effect.

At Buckingham we are fortunate to have tremendous support from our parents and our community.  Our PTA provides support for our teachers and activities for our students. We encourage each parent to stay active in their child's education.  We understand and realize everyone leads busy lives, and it is often difficult to volunteer at school.  However, taking just a few minutes in the evening to read to your child, talk with your child about school, or simply see that your child is organized for the next school day can have great benefits.

We are extremely proud of our school and know you'll be impressed by what you experience. If you have any questions or would like to contact me, please email me at skip.offenhauser@bend.k12.or.us.
