The mission of Summit High School is to develop a positive learning environment for students to become creative thinkers; effective problem solvers; compassionate, productive citizens; and lifelong learners.

Roots:
Summit High School is publicly and widely known for its commitment to excellence in all areas of education. Students are achieving at a high level of academic performance and are making significant contributions to their community and to society in general. Summit High School is committed to involving school personnel, community, students and their families as co-operative to advance the goals of educational improvement. Together we are building an educational environment of distinction and personal responsibility, which is engendering intellectual, emotional, social and ethical growth for everyone.

Students at Summit High are personally responsible for their education. There is a genuine respect between the students and the faculty, which creates a continuing dialog between teacher and student that will help create an atmosphere of learning, which includes tolerance, honesty, safety, personal responsibility and a passion for knowledge. The mastering of all levels of communication, including oral and written, helps greatly to create these important and positive relationships. Students possess the necessary skills and knowledge needed to empower them so succeed in a diverse world while discovering their true self.

Wings:
With the solid grounding of their educational foundation, Summit students are prepared to fly into the world as productive adults and contributing members of society. Because they have been provided with the proper tools, they are able to creatively meet any challenge that comes their way. Not only are they able to dream, but they are able to successfully navigate the obstacles that impede those dreams. They can soar with a true sense of direction, with goals and career paths clearly established. Summit High School is known as a place that teaches its students that everyone can learn. Summit is known as a school that celebrates every students success and achievements in all areas, academic, and co-curricular. Summit High School is a place where students have developed lasting relationships, both educational and personal.
