Grant Writing for the Bend - La Pine Schools is a new resource guide intended to help you become a better grant writer and bring valuable resources into our classrooms and schools! It is designed for teachers, administrators, and parents and anyone interested in helping to raise funds for our schools.
Grant Writing 101: This document provides a basic overview of grant writing, demystifies the grant writing process, and provides tips, tricks and advice.
Grants for 2004-2005: This listing shows all the grants (at least those that we know about!) that were applied for by the District in 2004-2005. These include District-wide, school specific and proposals from individual teachers. This document is intended to provide a sense of the types of grants that were written, to whom were they submitted, how much was requested, which teachers are experienced grant writers, etc.
Grant Opportunities for K-12 Education: (Sept, 2005) This document is a "cliff notes" version of the numerous books, newsletters and magazines that line the shelves of the Grants Office, and it presents many of the most popular (and successful) grant opportunities for the District over the past several years. Divided (informally) into Corporate, Foundation and Other (which includes awards, scholarships, etc.), you can find basic information on purpose and priorities, amount available, and funding deadlines.
Grants Calendar: (Sept, 2005) This document shows the above potential funding sources in calendar format so you can tell when certain applications are due (and decide when you might have time to go after a particular grant). Disclaimer: Deadlines frequently change so the dates listed are anticipated or based on previous experience and should be confirmed independently by phone call or visiting the website.
