The first goal of the Social Studies department at Summit is to develop critical thinking skills. Second, the department is committed to heightening student understanding and appreciation of the past and the legacy that has preceded us. Finally, the department seeks to provide opportunities for students to broaden their knowledge and appreciation of divers people, cultures, ideas, and institutions.
