The Cadet Teaching program is designed to provide students with the opportunity for a realistic experience in the field of education. Students will choose or be assigned to work with an elementary or middle school teacher. Primary focus will be on actual contact with students involved in the learning process (whether working with small groups or one-on-one), and other duties such as grading papers, record-keeping, lesson planning, creating bulletin boards, etc. Prerequisite: Excellent history of attendance, reliable transportation, and teacher approval. Successful completion of this 18 week course culminates in .5 elective credit.
